The BJ's Restaurants Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to support charities benefiting children's healthcare and education, with primary focus on the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. In addition, our Foundation recognizes and rewards the volunteer efforts of BJ's Restaurants team members across the country as they help to give back to the communities in which our restaurants do business.
In just its second year, our TASC Force program received from the National Restaurant Association its prestigious national Restaurant Neighbor Award in the large business category. Our TASC Force teams have helped fulfill the wishes of special needs kids, placed flags in a national cemetery by the graves of fallen soldiers, painted over unsightly graffiti and helped clean up beaches, parks and school grounds. In addition, we hosted blood drives, worked with Special Olympics, painted houses for elderly citizens, supported Habitat for Humanity and re-built playgrounds. Our teams have also worked at food banks, participated in fundraising runs and walkathons and delivered food to families in need on Christmas morning.
Our TASC Force team members do this on their own time, and they do it as a team. They do it because it’s simply the right thing to do, and they inevitably come away as better individuals and more responsible citizens. Also, in recognition of our volunteer teams, our Foundation provides monetary donations to many of the charities supported by our team members. Please visit our FaceBook site for a look at some of our recent TASC Force activities. Charitable Contributions from New Restaurant Openings Guests from nearby communities are invited to enjoy the BJ's dining experience a few days prior to the opening of our new restaurants. This gives our newly-trained teams the chance to put their final touches on proper food preparation and service. Thanks entirely to the generosity of the guests attending these pre-opening parties, we're very proud to have made significant contributions to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation from our new restaurant openings across the country. Fundraising Events The major fundraising event directly benefiting the Foundation is a yearly charity golf tournament. All proceeds from the tournament go to the Foundation which then disperses funds throughout the year to designated charities defined by our mission statement. Next year's tournament will take place on Monday, June 7, 2010 at Dove Canyon Country Club. Please contact the foundation if you are interested in participating. Cookies 4 Kids
Having raised millions of dollars through the years, the Cookies 4 Kids program donates a portion of all Pizookie dessert sales to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. The signature Pizookie is a freshly baked, hot-out-of-the-oven cookie (chocolate chunk, white chocolate macadamia nut, oatmeal raisin, peanut butter or Oreo cookie) which is topped with two scoops of vanilla bean ice cream and served hot, and cold, to the table. It has become a favorite for thousands of BJ's guests and a wonderful fundraising campaign for our charity.
No person shall be authorized to use the name "BJ's Restaurants Foundation" in connection with any fundraising campaign or activity without the prior written consent of BJ's Restaurants Foundation, in accordance with the provisions of California Government Code Section 12599. |
